| 2009 Seghesio Carignane Old Vine Dry Creek, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 86 Alcohol by volume: 14.8% Price at time of purchase: $28.00 (From winery) Type: Carignane Principal varietal(s): Carignane Interesting red. Definitely on the claret rather than Zinfandel side of the textural spectrum. Subdued but complex aromas of smokey blackberry fruit with a spice and floral edge. Fairly austere in the mouth and finish. But nicely balanced and well made. Not sure it's worth a separate bottling, though. - HK 2015-06-25 [Back] |
