| 1991 Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Napa Valley, California WB Rating: 89 Alcohol by volume: 13.5% Price at time of purchase: $125.00 (Library wine) Type: Cabernet / Bordeaux Principal varietal(s): 100% Cabernet The usual sensational, nose-blasting Silver Oak Cab nose with liquid smoke and cassis, and in this case some spiciness also. Different from the Alexander Valley in that there is less leafiness or tobacco in the profile. In the mouth, though, a little more tight and unyielding than we are used to from Silver Oak, and a bit less round. But still delicious and possessing a fruit-filled and lingering finish. - WB Team 2000-11-15 [Back] |
