| 2000 Chateau des Tourettes "Plateau de L'Aigle" Vin de Pays de Vaucluse Vaucluse, France WB Rating: 87 Alcohol by volume: 13.0% Price at time of purchase: $12.00 (North Berkeley Wines) Type: Rhone-style White Principal varietal(s): 60% Viognier, 40% Roussanne This wine is a lot better than its "country wine" appellation would imply, and was a terrific buy during a sale at North Berkeley. It's a blend of 60% Viognier and 40% Roussanne. Very attractive and forward nose displays candied peaches, citrus, butter, flowers, melon and a whisp of boubon whiskey. Rich, satisfying flavors with a medium-bodied feel. Well balanced, excellent, serious summertime white. - HK 2003-08-02 [Back] |
