Though many 86's were tough textured, and Sociando Mallet is routinely a long-lived wine, this is drinking nicely right now. I wouldn't be inclined to hold it any longer, though, as the tannin is getting the upper hand on the fruit and spice. Unbelievably cheap when purchased -- those were the days! Excellent wine, but lacking a level or two in complexity and extraction to make it into the 90 point range as the '85 did. - HK 2004-12-11 [Back] |
