2002 Aleph Cabernet Sauvignon Mendoza, Argentina WB Rating: 89 Alcohol by volume: 13.7% Price at time of purchase: $11.99 (K&L) Type: Cabernet / Bordeaux Principal varietal(s): Drinking a Silver Oak the other evening with a fellow Bork reminded me that I haven't had enough Cabernets lately. This wine reinforced that. The nose is spicy with hints of plum, pepper, and fermenting warm grass clippings. The wine is a bargain and a real pleasure to drink; it's nicely balanced with spices, tannins, oak, and very subtle vanilla. It's very drinkable now and paired exceptionally with New Year's Eve prime rib. - AS 2004-12-31 [Back] |
