| 2012 Atalon Pauline's Cuvée Napa Valley, California WB Rating: 88 Alcohol by volume: 14.5% Price at time of purchase: $16.99 (K&L) Type: Merlot Principal varietal(s): 75% Merlot, 15% Cab Franc; rest Cab and Malbec I've enjoyed the Atalon Cabernets in the past; this is their take on a right bank Bordeaux: 75% Merlot and 20% Cab Franc make up most of the blend. Flavors lean towards dark cherry and currant fruit, mocha, coffee, and slightly leafy, earthy notes. Nicely constructed in the mouth and finish, well priced for a wine of this quality.
