Rita Hills WB Rating: 88 Alcohol by volume: 14.7% Price at time of purchase: $45.00 (from winery) Type: Chardonnay Principal varietal(s): Chardonnay Nice Chardonnay, but it came across as chunky and simple next to two superb 2012 Chardonnays from Martinelli and Varner tasted along side it - both of which were in the same price range. Certainly mouth-filling and rich, with buttery tangerine and apple flavors, good balance and length. Just not at the same level of finesse and complexity as its superiors.
