2012 Domaine Barmes Buecher Riesling Grand Cru Hengst Alsace, France WB Rating: 90 Alcohol by volume: 13.6% Price at time of purchase: $32.00 (Wine Access) Type: Riesling Principal varietal(s): Riesling Tasted first years ago, this wine was quite unevolved - obviously rich and promising and weighty, but still muted. In this latest tasting, the wine was fully evolved. A deeper golden color, and much more obvious Riesling character than in the earlier tasting, with a complex nose that includes apricot, fermented pineapple, orange liqueur, exotic herbs and spices, sweet flowers, and an intense honeyed edge. Quite heavy in the mouth - almost too much so for a Riesling, to my wimpy palate. - HK 2021-09-10 [Back] |
