2007 Bella Petite Sirah Lily Hill Estate Dry Creek, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 89 Alcohol by volume: 15.0% Price at time of purchase: $38.00 (Winery) Type: Petite Sirah Principal varietal(s): Petite Sirah This is a big-boned, masculine wine and still has a potent tannic bite at age 6. But it has certainly softened and opened up in the past couple of years and is now eminently drinkable - with food, that is. This is not a sipping wine. Earthy, briary black raspberry fruit with a hint of violets and black pepper. Mouth filling, if still tough textured, and balanced and long. I have one more of these in the cellar that I'm going to hold onto for a few more years. This still has the feel of a very youthful wine. - HK 2013-05-10 [Back] |
