| 2000 Benziger Family Winery Chardonnay Carneros Carneros, California WB Rating: 80 Alcohol by volume: 13.9% Price at time of purchase: $11.00 (K&L) Type: Chardonnay Principal varietal(s): Chardonnay The bottle that we sampled (which was actually purchased at a restaurant in Hawaii, and therefore had a suspect shipment and storage history)seemed somewhat green and disjointed. It displayed high acidity and significant oak, but only vague peachy fruit and not much depth. Not bad, but disappointing. We've had many better wines from this producer. - HK 2002-10-30 [Back] |
