Darker and more zin-like that most merlots, this wine has some grip, elusive fruit with a mildly tannic, metalic finish and a slightly vegetal edge. Not exciting, but it's certainly drinkable, and should go well with mild cheese or pasta dishes, or just as a warm-up. - MJA 2002-10-09
