Yes this wine is expensive and yes, it was infanticide to drink it at age 2. But what a sensational Pinot it already is. The alcohol level is high, the nose and flavors are assertive, and yet the wine is elegant and harmonious from start to finish. Exotic perfume of candied berry fruit, smoke, licorice, Asian spice, dried roses. Amazingly smooth in the mouth, filling every nook and cranny of the taste buds with delectable fruit and spice. Remarkable intensity with no sense of heaviness. The 15% alcohol level is invisible behind the flavor density and harmonious texture. Gorgeous wine that, I'm sure, is four or five years from its peak. - HK 2014-09-19
