1984 Buehler Cabernet Sauvignon St. Helena, Napa, California WB Rating: 86 Alcohol by volume: 13.0% Price at time of purchase: $10.00 (Library wine) Type: Cabernet / Bordeaux Principal varietal(s): Cabernet This was a delicious, chunky, briary, Zin-like Cabernet when young, but has aged much better than the typical Zin. Still a healthy deep purple, but, not surprisingly, lacks some of the vitality of its youth and rates a few points lower as a result. Sweet curranty fruit with pronounced cedar and tobacco. A good Cab and hanging on beautifully, but still better a few years ago. - WB Team 2000-11-06 [Back] |
