2004 Burgans Albarino Rias Baixas, Spain WB Rating: 87 Alcohol by volume: 12.5% Price at time of purchase: $9.99 (K&L) Type: Spanish White Principal varietal(s): Albarino This reminds me of some of the old Martin Codax Albarino's we used to buy. It is an excellent and food-worthy wine that's like the essence of springtime in the nose. Vaguely similar to a Viognier in its floral aromas, it also has lots of clean mineral components along with touches of fresh cut peaches and lime. Reasonably rich in the mouth, yet bone dry - a great wine for fish or shellfish. This is an exceptionally good buy. - HK 2006-12-27 [Back] |
