You've got to have a more resilient palate than ours to find much to enjoy in this tough-textured, tannic, high-acid wine. Some molasses and simple cherry fruit are found in the flavors, but the wine is dominated by a tart, austere, closed texture that doesn't give us much hope for positive evolution. We should have been nervous by the "low" price of this Brunello. Both this wine and several others from the K&L Premium Wine Club strike us as being off-year or off-quality examples of what should be memorable wines. K&L is one of our favorite wine shops, but they need to do a LOT better on selections such as this. - WB Team 2002-03-27
