| 2000 Dashe Cellars Zinfandel Dry Creek Dry Creek, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 90 Alcohol by volume: 15.0% Price at time of purchase: $19.00 (K&L) Type: Zinfandel Principal varietal(s): 92% Zin, 3% Carignan, 5% Petite Sirah Michael Dashe worked at Ridge Vineyards for many years, and this wine certainly lives up to that heritage. In fact, we significantly prefer this wine to any of the Ridge 2000's we've tasted to date. This is a powerful, classic Zin, with none of the over-ripeness that characterizes so many brawny Zins. It has excellent balance and a seamless feel. Rich, spicy blackberry and deep, dark, black cherry flavors are folded into a palate-coating mouth feel and long finish.
