2012 Dragonette Cellars Pinot Noir Black Label Sta. Rita Hills WB Rating: 90 Alcohol by volume: 14.5% Price at time of purchase: $70.00 (Winery) Type: Pinot Noir / Burgundy Principal varietal(s): Pinot Noir A special section from multiple vineyard sources, the 2012 Black Label Pinot Noir is excellent. This wine is still remarkably youthful and will benefit from a couple more years of bottle age. A little tight with lots of smokey wood tones when first opened, but this dissipates quickly and deep, earthy, complex Pinot aromas and flavors emerge. I get touches of everything from classic dark cherry to charred wood, Dr. Pepper, red flowers, Cassis, and orange peel. A wine that really makes you crave another sip. Nicely textured in the mouth, not heavy but with plenty of intensity. - HK 2017-07-14 [Back] |
