2012 Drew Family Cellars Pinot Noir Gatekeepers Anderson Valley, Mendocino, California WB Rating: 87 Alcohol by volume: 13.5% Price at time of purchase: $34.00 (Vinhus, Solvang CA) Type: Pinot Noir / Burgundy Principal varietal(s): Pinot Noir This entry-level Pinot from Drew is already quite drinkable at age 2. Smooth and easy to enjoy, though it still shows a tinge of tightness that will soften in a year or two. Not surprisingly, lacks the depth and grip of the higher-level Drew Pinot's. Still, the wine shows classic cherry-strawberry fruit in the foreground with hints of charcoal and spice in the background. Satisfying feeling of ripeness and balance in the mouth and finish. - HK 2014-09-17 [Back] |
