2012 Drew Family Cellars Pinot Noir Morning Dew Ranch Anderson Valley, Mendocino, California WB Rating: 82 Alcohol by volume: 13.5% Price at time of purchase: $55.00 (from winery) Type: Pinot Noir / Burgundy Principal varietal(s): Pinot Noir This wine, from one of the best vineyards in Anderson Valley and also from one of my favorite wineries, is a total mystery. Light ruby in color, with a reticent nose of somewhat herbal Pinot fruit with touches of dried flowers, wet earth, and orange peel. In the mouth, rather insipid in both texture and flavor, with the acid taking a front role over the fruit. I don't taste any odd funky notes and the bottle was stored well, but I can only guess that this was a bad bottle or else this one is already over the hill. - HK 2018-06-16 [Back] |
