2013 Drew Family Cellars Pinot Noir Morning Dew Ranch Anderson Valley, Mendocino, California WB Rating: 87 Alcohol by volume: 13.3% Price at time of purchase: $55.00 (from winery) Type: Pinot Noir / Burgundy Principal varietal(s): Pinot Noir Intriguing, very Burgundian nose displays musky dark cherry, dark currants, port wine, and an almost barnyard complexity of earth tones. In the mouth, however, it falls off, is rather tart and straight-ahead, rather like a cru Beaujolais. Like the 2012 Drew Morning Dew tasted earlier this year, it seems to have reached old age rather early, without much promise for future development. - HK 2018-10-19 [Back] |
