2010 Dutton-Goldfield Chardonnay Dutton Ranch, Rued Vineyard Green Valley of Russian River AVA, Sonoma WB Rating: 91 Alcohol by volume: 13.5% Price at time of purchase: $50.00 (from winery) Type: Chardonnay Principal varietal(s): Chardonnay This is an excellent Chardonnay. Admirable balance, freshness, purity, finesse. Focused and lively in the mouth, with layers of coconut, banana, spiced pear, and melon, and a lovely perfumed nose with a big dose of sweet white flowers. Rich yet crisp and refreshing, without heaviness. Long and flavorful finish, which at the end almost reminds me of Viognier. Great harmony and style. - HK 2012-06-15 [Back] |

[HK 2013-10-27] Tried another bottle of this wine last night. Good but not memorable. Crisp, lemon-tinged flavors, but a bit angular and lacking the sublime floral aromas and mouth-coating flavors of the first go-round. I would have rated it in the 88-90 range. User Rating: . |
