2011 Dutton-Goldfield Pinot Noir McDougall Vineyard Sonoma Coast, California WB Rating: 90 Alcohol by volume: 13.5% Price at time of purchase: $58.00 (from winery) Type: Pinot Noir / Burgundy Principal varietal(s): Pinot Noir Despite the cold vintage, this wine is virtually the equal of the 2010. From absolutely tiny yields, this wine is a classic Sonoma Coast Pinot - richly flavored, velvety textured, yet beautifully balanced and light on its feet. Cherry, tart plums, raspberry fruit with a background of smoke and earthy, resiny notes. As usual, not quite as hedonistic as some of the D-G Russian River Pinots, but beautifully made. - HK 2016-04-13 [Back] |
