If this wine had a bit more oomph it would be rated a few points higher. It leaves you with a frustrating touch of Burgundy magic but then disappears. In any case, this is a pure, balanced, flavorful Pinot Noir with classic cherry and rose-petal-like aromas that follow through, at a lower intensity level, in the flavors. A refined and elegant wine that's simply too restrained in its flavor. Purchased as part of an excellent sale; it would be overpriced at $30+. - HK 2002-03-09
