2010 Failla Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast, California WB Rating: 90 Alcohol by volume: 13.9% Price at time of purchase: $30.59 (Joe Canal's Lawrenceville NJ) Type: Pinot Noir / Burgundy Principal varietal(s): Pinot Noir Interesting comparison to a Hirsch Sonoma Coast Pinot tasted a few days ago. The Failla is likewise firm and youthful, but in a sterner, deeper, more masculine framework. Lovely, focused cold-climate Pinot nose of dark cherry, raspberry, macerated strawberry, and charcoal smoke. Firm and somewhat unevolved in the mouth at this point but on its way to being excellent. - HK 2012-05-29 [Back] |
