1987 Ferrari-Carano Cabernet Sauvignon Dry Creek, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 84 Alcohol by volume: 13.0% Price at time of purchase: $ (Library Wine) Type: Cabernet / Bordeaux Principal varietal(s): n/a Had the unfortunate fate to be tasted at the same time as a '85 Lynch Bages, and suffered mightily as a result. Nice, full, smoky, leafy, berry-tinged Cabernet nose. But flavors were rather clipped and thin by comparison. Somewhat holow mid-range and short finish. OK Cab, but probably a little past its prime and at its current age, not in the Major Leagues of Cabs. - WB Team 2000-09-03 [Back] |
