Considerably more voluptuous than the "lesser" Phelps Freestone Chardonnays, the 2011 Pastorale has a creamy, fruit-filled personality to go along with the crisp acid structure found in all the Phelps Chardonnays. Fruit leans toward ripe peach, pear, and sweet citrus, and there are lovely nuances of spice and toasty oak in the finish.
