2012 Guigal Cotes du Rhone Cotes du Rhone, France WB Rating: 88 Alcohol by volume: 14.0% Price at time of purchase: $11.99 (Costco) Type: Rhone Principal varietal(s): Southern Rhone blend It's remarkable to consider that Guigal, maker of some of the greatest and most expensive wines from the northern Rhone Valley, also makes, in large quantity, an absolutely superb bargain Cotes du Rhone. The 2012 Cotes du Rhone has a rich, classic nose of super-ripe strawberry, blueberry, cherry liqueur, and dried sweet herbs. Lots of grip and authority in the mouth and finish. Hard to over-emphasize what a bargain this is. - HK 2016-06-23 [Back] |
