Hartford has an uncanny ability to take grapes with monster statistics and somehow craft elegant, beautifully balanced, delicious wines from them. This wine, while exceptionally rich and powerful, has something of the texture of a rich Pinot Noir as opposed to a thermonuclear Zin. Deep opaque purple color, rich spicy blackberry fruit, teeth-staining depth and texture. Very fairly priced for the quality. - HK 2006-12-19
