Admirable intensity and depth but with an amazingly elegant and velvety feel, great grip and presence in the mouth. Classic Russian River combination of lively dark cherry, blueberry, currant, cranberry fruit with wafts of spicy oak and vanilla and red flowers. I detected no heat in this wine despite its alcohol level. It has an almost Pinot Noir-like harmony and silkiness.
