| 2011 Hartford Zinfandel Hartford Vineyard Russian River, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 89 Alcohol by volume: 15.0% Price at time of purchase: $55.00 (Winery) Type: Zinfandel Principal varietal(s): Zinfandel A tasty Zin, but from the cold 2011 vintage it doesn't have the depth and density of the superior vintages like 2010. Seems a tad disjointed compared to the normal seamless Hartford profile, and to my taste not as balanced and satisfying as the 2011 Highwire. This would be nitpicking except these Zins are expensive! In any case, the Hartford Vineyard Zin has bright, classic Russian River cranberry and dark cherry fruit, along with tart plum, a hefty level of spice, and a slightly tart mouth feel.
