2011 Hartford Court Chardonnay Stone Côte Vineyard Sonoma Coast, California WB Rating: 92 Alcohol by volume: 14.4% Price at time of purchase: $60.00 (Winery) Type: Chardonnay Principal varietal(s): Chardonnay From a block of the Durrell Vineyard, west of the town of Sonoma in the Petaluma gap. Rich, almost oily feel to this delightful Chardonnay, which struck me as more fleshy and overtly fruity than some of the other Hartford gems, though it still has the usual Hartford sense of purity and precision. Deep aromas and flavors of lemon curd, poached pear, white flowers, subtle spiciness. Despite the viscosity, a bright and fresh level of acidity keeps the wine fresh and beautifully balanced. Expensive, but exquisitely made. - HK 2015-06-16 [Back] |
