| 2012 Hartford Court Chardonnay Three Jacks Vineyard Russian River, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 88 Alcohol by volume: 14.6% Price at time of purchase: $65.00 (from winery) Type: Chardonnay Principal varietal(s): Chardonnay For whatever reason, the Three Jacks Chardonnay did not hit the center of my palate sweet spot in 2012. Precise and pure in feel, but to my taste dominated by saline, minerally components more than fruit. Displays some pear and subtle citrus fruits and spice on top of the mineral water edge. We may have to try this one again, but for now I'd put it in the very good as opposed to exceptional category. (In reviewing this wine, I happened to look back with nostalgia at the 2001 Three Jacks, which was a mere $30 a bottle back in the day.
