2009 Hirsch Winery Pinot Noir, "The Bohan-Dillon" Sonoma Coast, California WB Rating: 90 Alcohol by volume: 13.1% Price at time of purchase: $28.89 (Shoprite Trenton NJ) Type: Pinot Noir / Burgundy Principal varietal(s): Pinot Noir Elegant, lean, sleek Pinot. Very Burgundian in feel, like a good Beaune - low in alcohol, slightly tart, but overflowing with graceful cherry- and rose petal-laced fruit. Complex, evolving nose also includes touches of charcoal smoke and pine resin. Long in the mouth and finish despite its elegance and lack of weightiness. A really easy Pinot to like, especially if you can find it for under $30. - HK 2012-05-24 [Back] |
