2013 Husch Vineyards Gewurtztraminer Late Harvest Mendocino, California WB Rating: 89 Alcohol by volume: 11.5% Price at time of purchase: $18.00 (winery) Type: Sauvignon Blanc Principal varietal(s): Remarkable value in dessert wine. (Price shown is for 375ml bottle.) Because of its acid balance, this wine is luscious without being cloying. Lovely botrytis-tinged flavors comprise a complex mix of apricot, poached pear, orange marmalade, saffron, nutmeg, cinnamon. Opulent in the mouth but full of life and energy. Really well priced for this quality level. I don't think this is a wine to put away, but it's a delight right now. - HK 2016-12-17 [Back] |
