Good though not memorable Burgundy, a let-down given the pedigree of this Premier Cru vineyard. All the components are in place, but the wine is firm and somewhat unyielding, and simply lacks the intensity to provide much excitement. (You shouldn't have to work this hard to find the pleasure in a wine.) Spicy cassis and ripe strawberries are found in the reticent bouquet. Mouth feel like a light-weight Bordeaux. Fairly assertive acidity in the finish. - HK 2002-06-10
