I think the 2009 Vintner's Reserve is easily the best to date. It has a different profile than previous vintages, to my taste at least. Less chunky, oaky, and sweet-feeling, much crisper, sleeker, and higher in acid. Reminds me more of a higher-acid Sonoma Coast Chardonnay than of previous Vintner's Reserve vintages. Peach, lime, vanilla, nutmeg, and a hint of tropical fruit in the nose. Clean, crisp finish. One of the very best possible buys in affordable California Chardonnay. - HK 2012-02-11
