| 2011 Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay Camelot Highlands Santa Maria Valley, California WB Rating: 87 Alcohol by volume: 14.5% Price at time of purchase: $35.00 (from winery) Type: Chardonnay Principal varietal(s): Chardonnay I found this one a bit of a puzzle. At the 95% level, the wine had the usual K-J ripe mouth feel with abundant spiced tropical and citrus oil notes and a good dose of minerality and overall harmony to its components. Nice balancing acid to keep it fresh. But throughout the entire tasting, and especially when the bottle was first opened, there were, at the 5% level, some distant off-putting notes of wet straw and wet wool. A slightly off bottle?
