The 2009 Lanessan has opened up beautifully in its maturity. It is a harmonious, classic Bordeaux with cedar-tinged dark berry and dark currant flavors, an unusually rich and silky mouth-feel, and the overall balance and sturdiness that make these wines so enjoyable and such remarkable bargains. This wine is one of many Bordeaux in the $20 range (at the time of purchase) that blow away most new world Cabs that are anywhere close to this price point. This wine is drinking superlatively right now and will be for some years to come. One of the many great bargains from Premier Cru before they went belly up. - HK 2020-05-23
