1986 Laurel Glen Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma Mountain, California WB Rating: 92 Alcohol by volume: 12.5% Price at time of purchase: $0.00 (Library wine) Type: Cabernet / Bordeaux Principal varietal(s): Cabernet Sauvignon First tasted from a 750 ml bottle 6 years ago, the bottle reviewed here was a magnum purchased at an auction at some point in the distant past. This is an outstanding, still youthful Cabernet drinking wonderfully right now. Has that Bordeaux first-growth edge with nuances that are not found in a normal universe. Cassis and cedar in abundance, with a touch of mint in its excellent perfume. Nearly perfect balance: delicious, mouth-filling, but not in any way heavy or clumsy - very Bordeaux-like in its overall weight and sense of harmony. - HK 2006-07-15 [Back] |
