They make quintessential Russian River reds from their Collins Estate vineyard -- rich but elegant, with distinctive, slightly briary blackberry and blueberry flavors. The 2000 Zin is another excellent wine. Deeply colored, this wine has a forward nose of dark cherry, blackberry, and vanilla, with a very slight but attractive floral edge. Rich in the mouth, it still has some tannin to shed. It would be interesting to taste one of these in a few years, but it will be a miracle of self-control if any of these see age four. - WB Team 2002-07-25 [Back] |
