Excellent Zin, though I don't think it's in the same class as the outstanding 2009 Vellutini. Candied cherry and earthy/funky currant and pomegranate fruit with a good dose of oak and spiciness. An overall muskiness in the flavors seems to dampen the fruit a tad. Although it has about a percent less alcohol than the '09, I found it a little more obtrusive in the feel of this wine. Very good wine, but a little short of outstanding to my taste. - HK 2013-11-14
