| 2012 Martinelli Zinfandel Giuseppe and Louisa Russian River, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 91 Alcohol by volume: 17.3% Price at time of purchase: $52.00 (from winery) Type: Zinfandel Principal varietal(s): Another Martinelli Zin with crazy alcohol level yet with an overall harmonious feel to it. Liqueur-like texture, but not sweet or raisiny, just remarkably rich and silky. Flavors lean toward candied red cherry, mulberry, plum, charcoal, kirsch, with touches of underbrush and spice. Obviously round and full but actually quite velvety in the mouth and finish.
