Disappointing Chardonnay that became less interesting the longer the wine was open. A lot of spicy oak and some minerals, but very little fruit, a hollow midrange, and a short finish. Overall it basically had a dispirited feeling to it. I've had some excellent Merryvale Starmont Chardonnays, but this certainly wasn't one of them. - HK 2004-11-15
