| 2008 Robert Mondavi Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Napa Valley, California WB Rating: 86 Alcohol by volume: 15.0% Price at time of purchase: $19.99 (Costco) Type: Cabernet / Bordeaux Principal varietal(s): Bordeaux blend I didn't find this wine nearly as compelling as an '06 Mondavi Napa Cab sampled a year or so ago. The '08 is much less rich and satisfying. That said, the nose of the '08 is fairly classy, with attractively forward, smoky cherry and currant fruit. Lean and dry in the mouth with slightly bitter tannins in the finish. Will probably soften with a few more years' aging. - HK 2011-08-14 [Back] |
