Previously tasted in December of 2001, when it stuck us as excellent but a bit high in acid. In this tasting that impression was gone. This is a rich but firm and tannic Cabernet that still has years of development ahead. Blackberry, currants, and cedar comprise its moderately complex nose and flavors. Rich mouth-feel and finish with slightly dusty tannins. This is the first non-Burgundian Mount Eden we've tried, and it is a serious, high-quality Santa Cruz Mountains Cab. It was $12 a bottle when purchased. Oh for the good old days! - HK 2004-03-27
