2010 Mueller Winery Pinot Noir Emily's Cuvee Russian River, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 90 Alcohol by volume: 14.5% Price at time of purchase: $40.00 (K&L Bistro - special) Type: Pinot Noir / Burgundy Principal varietal(s): Pinot Noir Beautifully perfumed Pinot Noir, less earthy and more floral than I remember from earlier vintages. Feminine, Burgundian texture, richly flavored yet firmly structured, with no heaviness whatsoever. Raspberry and red cherry fruit with some sweet spice and smoky wood at the core; lovely rose-like perfume. Great balance and persistence, super food wine. Purchased during a Sunday night special at K&L Bistro in Sebastopol. At $40 this was a tremendous wine-list bargain since the wine retails, with justification, somewhat higher than this. - HK 2012-10-14 [Back] |
