2000 Old World Winery Pinot Noir Laughlin Vineyard Russian River, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 90 Alcohol by volume: 14.1% Price at time of purchase: $30.00 (from winery) Type: Pinot Noir / Burgundy Principal varietal(s): Pinot Noir A youthful Pinot Noir with lots of room to grow. This excellent wine displays an intriguing nose of ripe berries, allspice, and a touch of Burgundian barnyard complexity. In the mouth, the flavors include tart berry along with spicy dark currants. Excellent length. This wine is definitely tighter and more restrained than the turbo-charged 2000 Windsor Gardens Pinot, and is well-served by decanting half an hour before drinking.
