2003 Old World Winery Pinot Noir Powerhouse Vineyard Potter Valley, Medocino County, California WB Rating: 90 Alcohol by volume: 13.4% Price at time of purchase: $25.00 (from Winery) Type: Pinot Noir / Burgundy Principal varietal(s): Pinot Noir This lovely wine features an intoxicating perfume of flowers, ripe cherries, plums, and berry liqueur. In the mouth, it is medium-bodied, not as dense or concentrated as the Laughlin or Windsor Gardens Pinot Noirs, drier and more French-styled in terms of its weight and balance and alcohol level. Perhaps not as complex as an expensive Beaune Premier Cru, but there aren't many Burgundies I've tried in the last 10 years that provide the pleasure this wine does or possess its penetrating, forward bouquet [Cost estimated.] - HK 2006-12-27 [Back] |
