Healthy purple in color. Forward nose almost like Cassis liqueur with an undercurrent of strawberry jam. Toasty oak and earthy notes in the background. Slightly tart in the mouth, not as full-bodied as the nose suggests but full of flavor and freshness at age 7. Long, solid Cassis-inflected finish. Another interesting blend from Old World - this one a field blend of Cabernet and Petite Sirah from Mounts Vineyard. - HK 2014-04-06
