Another great Fulton Folderol from Old World Winery, though completely different from the lower-alcohol 2008. Again a blend of 50% Zinfandel from the Carrarro Vineyard in Dry Creek and 50% Arbouriou from the Sherri Martinelli vineyard in the Russian River Valley, this opaque purple wine is more similar to a full-flavored late-harvest Zinfandel, or more accurately, a lower-alcohol version of port. Huge density of fruit and flavor with a slightly sweet tone. Loads of prune, blueberry, and dark berry fruit along with roasted walnuts and dried herbs. Very rich and mouth-coating, but not so sweet that it doesn't pair well with rich dishes or cheese. [Price estimated.] - HK 2013-03-16
